    Alexander of Falkirk provided a new style bodywork for the Olympian, known as the "R" type, these were mainly provided on chassis destined for operators in Scotland but a small number were also supplied to Merseyside PTE.
    The "R" type was available in two variations, most being the Lower hight "RL", whilst the full height "RH" version was mainly produced for the municipal and PTE fleets.
    The "R" was later made available on other Chassis such as Dennis's Dominator, MCW's Metrobus and in Small number's the Scania BR112 and later 113 Model and a version, the "RV" was also produced for the front engined Ailsa Volvo

    The first East Lanc's built bodywork on Olympian Chassis was for Cardiff, whilst a number of othe rmunicipals also ordered some however they never really caught on with most other operators and Very few are still in Service.

    The Origional Olympian feature a new style bodywork by Eastern Coach Works of Lowestoft that looked a bit like a low height Leyland Titan, most vehicles Built for the former National Bus Company carried this bodywork.
    in 1983 a completely redesigned Coach version was produced in small numbers.
    When Leyland Closed the ECW factory in 1987 the last vehicle out of the plant was an Olympian for London Transport

    When Leyland Closed the ECW factory in Lowestoft Production of Olympian Bodywork was transferred to the Leyalnd plant at Workington, which was working below capacity due to the cancellation of the Titan and poor orders for the National 2.

    Marshall of Cambridge only produced one batch of vehicles, all for Bournemouth's Yellow Buse's. although the same design of bodywork was also built onto Dennis Dominator's for Leicester and Volvo's for Derby

    Northern Counties of Wigan produced a varation of the Manchester "Standard" bodywork for Greater Manchester PTE and produced over 300 of them for that operator, other's built to the same design were also produced for other operators including a batch for export to Kuwait

    Optare was a new company that bought out the troubled former Roe factory in Leed's, and continued to build bodies on Olympians, later Optare stopped building bodie's on other manufacturer's chassis's and developed vehicles of their own

    The Charles Roe Factory in Leeds was one of the origional manufacturers to produce a body for the Olympian, Mainly for West Yorkshire PTE but a Number were also produced for the National Bus Company
